Children's Mental Health
About Our Services
Chippewa County Children's Mental Health provides case management services for children diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances. Case management is a voluntary service that helps children and families get connected with supports and services to meet their mental health needs.
Children’s Mental Health Case Management is child-centered, family-focused, and provided within the community, with the needs of the child and family dictating the types of services provided.

Case Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete an intake assessment to identify strengths and needs of the child and family.
- Develop a service plan that outlines needs, goals, and services.
- Help determine how to access services/supports if insurance does not cover.
- Help make referrals for services/supports.
- Help complete Medical Assistance applications.
- Write safety plans and assist with crisis intervention.
- Meet with your child/family at least once per month to monitor progress and address concerns.
- Provide information about community supports/activities for your child/family.
- Communicate with teachers, therapists, and others to assess needs and monitor progress.
How To Apply For Services:
To apply for services, a parent or professional must call Chippewa County Family Services Intake at 320-269-6401 and request Children’s Mental Health Case Management Services.
Chippewa County residents are encouraged to contact Mobile Crisis Response if they or someone they care about is experiencing a mental health crisis.

Fee Information for Children's Mental Health:
Children’s Mental Health Case Management Services are covered by Minnesota public health care programs such as Medical Assistance, Pre-Paid Medical Assistance, and Minnesota Care programs.
There may be fees associated with case management services. Your Case Manager can assist you with your questions about how parental fees are assessed for the Medical Assistance.
There may be additional fees for other services that are part of the case plan. Ask your Case Manager regarding fees for specific services.
